Student of the Month Spotlight: Kylee Murray
FPD is proud to recognize seventh grader Kylee Murray as our Student of the Month. Kylee has quickly made a positive impact on campus, and her teachers were eager to nominate her for this honor because of her kindness, diligence, and positive attitude in the classroom.
Kylee shared that she has truly enjoyed her seventh-grade year at FPD, especially the variety of classes available to students.
“I like having all the options,” she said, explaining that opportunities like Flight & Space and Medical Detectives have made learning more exciting.
As a new student this year at FPD, Kylee admitted she was initially nervous about making friends, but she quickly felt at home. “They welcomed me, so I have a lot of new friends now—more than I had last year,” she shared. She also expressed appreciation for her teachers, noting that Mrs. Minter and Mrs.Pearson have been favorites because they genuinely care about their students.
Science teacher Mrs. Alex Minter shared high praise for Kylee, saying,
“Kylee is super kind and goes out of her way to help others. She always puts others first, never says negative things about others, and works hard while making sure everyone feels included. She is respectful, smart, and humble—and incredibly creative. She is truly someone who would take the shirt off her own back to help someone in need.”
Bible teacher Mr. Matt Buren echoed that sentiment, adding,
"Kylee does excellent work and remains positive in any situation. She is always willing to help others, and her kindness brightens the spirits of teachers and students alike. She is the kind of student teachers can truly trust.”
Kylee was both surprised and grateful when her name was announced as Student of the Month. Knowing the award came from her teachers made it especially meaningful. When asked what advice she would give to new students, Kylee offered simple wisdom: “Study and try your best in all you do.”

A student of the month is selected each month for FPD. The award recognizes students who exemplify godly character, leadership, and excellence by living out the FPD Profile of a Graduate and striving to change the world for God’s glory. Students are nominated by teachers, and the Principal selects the winner from the nominations.
