Spotlight on Student of the Month: Meet 5th Grader Harper Bivins
FPD’s Student of the Month is 5th grader Harper Bivins, a student whose gentle spirit, kindness, and joyful curiosity shine in every corner of campus. Spend just a few minutes with Harper, and it’s easy to see why her teachers and classmates admire her.
When asked what she loves most about school, Harper lights up.
“I like how I get to go to different co-curriculars every day,” she explains. The variety keeps her energized, but one class stands out: “I like PE. It's super fun!” Her enthusiasm is the kind that makes ordinary school days feel bright.
Harper also loves the community she’s found at FPD. “There are a lot of good friends here,” she says with a smile. Friendship means something special to her. When asked what it means to be a good friend, Harper answers with wisdom beyond her years: “To be kind and loyal… always playing, being helpful, and setting a good example.” It’s no wonder she’s admired by her classmates.
Harper is known by her teachers for her warm personality and welcoming spirit.
“Harper’s gentle heart makes everyone feel welcome, and her kindness makes our classroom shine,” said her teacher, Mrs. Ashley Stokes. Faculty members note that she leads quietly but meaningfully, modeling compassion and encouraging others through her actions.
Outside the classroom, Harper enjoys peaceful, creative pursuits. One of her favorite hobbies is music—especially piano. She takes lessons from Mr. Hutchinson and speaks fondly of learning new pieces and improving her skills.
Harper is also deeply grateful for the blessings in her life. She shared that she’s thankful for her home, her family, and her school—simple joys that mean so much.
When we wrapped up the conversation, we asked her how it felt to be chosen as the very first Student of the Month for the year. Harper answered in her signature quiet, sincere way: “It feels good.”
And truly, it feels good to celebrate students like Harper—students who lead with kindness, curiosity, gratitude, and a heart for others. Congratulations, Harper! We are proud of you and grateful to have you in our FPD family.
A student of the month is selected each month for FPD. The award recognizes students who exemplify godly character, leadership, and excellence by living out the FPD Profile of a Graduate and striving to change the world for God’s glory. Students are nominated by teachers, and the Principal selects the winner from the nominations.
